Dr Dimitrios Makris is a lecturer in the Faculty of Computing, Information Systems and Mathematics, Kingston University, London. He received his first degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1999 and his PhD in Computer Vision from City University, London in 2004. He worked as a research assistant at Kingston University in 2003 and appointed as a lecturer in 2004.

His research interests are in the area of Image Processing, Computer Vision and Machine Learning. He is especially interested in Visual Surveillance, 3D Reconstruction and Design of Complex Vision Systems.
He is a member of the British Machine Vision Association (BMVA) and the Insitute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

He also teaches Unified Modelling Language (UML) and Image Processing to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Next year, he will also teach Game AI.
